Giuseppe Pellegrini & Volunteer Awards launch - Thursday 2nd May

Hi EUFC Family,

This Thursday 2^nd of Maywe will be holding our first Giuseppe Pellegrini & Volunteer Awards for the 2024 Season. For our new families, these awards commenced in the 2015 season of EUFC and have been acknowledged every year thereafter.

The Pellegrini Award is issued to a player who has shown commitment and dedication, persistence, discipline, team spirit and respect to their team players coach and team managers. All these attributes are those that all players should aspire to. The purpose of the award is to encourage and help instill the professional ethos in soccer players associated with Eastern United FC and we believe that by developing these qualities, our players will demonstrate excellence, on and off the field.

Our Volunteer Award each month will go to a star performer within your team and or from around the EUFC club. This could be someone going above and beyond for your team by supporting your team and that you would like to recognize for their valued contributions.

So how does it work?

• Coaches and Team managers from each age group will nominate a player for this award using a set of criteria to assist in their judgment, which we have attached for you to review with your child and hopefully encourage them to display these qualities for nominations.
• The Team Managers will forward player names to a dedicated committee who will finalise the successful nominees.
• Coaches and Team Managers will present these awards to the nominated players.
• It is our hope that this program will encourage all players to strive to achieve the behaviors expected by our club.

We will hold this session on the last Thursday of every month until the end of our season. This Thursday we will be holding the award presentations in two sessions:

Miniroos to Under 11 - 6:45pm to 7:15pm

Under 13 to Under 15 - 7:30pm to 8 pm

All players, coaches, team managers, family and friends are to be in the EUCF Clubrooms for a prompt start at the respective times. There will be a full canteen menu available, and we encourage all families to have a meal together before, during and after the presentations.
