The Northwest Cricket Union has extended an invitation this week to their U 13 Cricket festival for girls which is occurring between Aug 14- 16th in Derry, Northern Ireland.
U13 Girls team from Cricket Leinster, Northern CU and Northwest CU will be in attendance for the games.
Since we are a development team in munster, the NWCU has also pre- tempted this and offered that we can play overage girls up to the age of 15years.
Upon request to play our age 16 players unfortunately they declined.
The MCU women & girls committee is now working on the feasibility for a Munster girls team to attend these games.
With many girls currently enjoying the Munster T10 Womens league matches we hope there will be some keenness to be part of the first girls representative team for Munster !
PLEASE NOTE the venue is technically UK and remind players and parents of any visa reqirements they might need. It is not the responsibility of MCU to manage this.
The details are as follows,
DATES; Travel up to Derry on 13th Aug - Depart home Friday 16th. Accommodation is at St Columbs Park House for the players and coaches.

Cost is €200 per player after a welcome subsidy from Munster Cricket Union to support the girls' event.
A Coach ( offer is being considered) & Assistant Coach/ team manager (myself, Maria) will travel with the team and attend the matches.
Squad Training x 2 sessions are being organised in advance of the event for the girls.

There is also an €80 fuel allowance foe those parents who will be designated drivers for the event.
Any parents who travel will need to organise their own accommodation.

This will be a wonderful way to end the girls' summer hols and perhaps bring a heightened energy into their game and into their love of the sport.
